Syncing files when working with 2 computers

Do you have experience working with 2 computers? I am currently using 2 machines for different projects. But I still need some common files on both of them, like small extra scripts, helpful files an so on. How do you keep two machines in sync in order not to repeat yourself (or copy) every time when you need something you have on another machine?

I keep all programming related stuff under one big folder. As you might guess, it is too big with a lot of git repositories (not to mention node_modules). So, it is not a practical option to copy and paste this whole folder every time. Is there any ready solution for such synchronization?
