I’d love your insight

I’m in the early stages of developing a digital product, I’ve drafted prototypes and today I sent it to a UX/UI design team for cleanup.

I just don’t want to “get got” in this process being new to this environment, though I understand paying for quality work/service/expertise. This product is a stacked CRM, scheduling, & business management tool.

I’ve been quoted approx $100k for the coding. My husband was a software engineer 10 years ago and he says this quote is outrageous. He thinks SQL, APIs and backend shouldn’t be so complex to justify 100k. His experience was coding robotics for VW and satellites for NBC so he wasn’t in the realm of consumer products.

Hoping to get a feel for the state of things and any advice from folks in this community. Thanks in advance!

Edit: I’m in the USA, the quote was from an LA team in USD. I’ve also interviewed another agency but it came off as an MLM model, which brings about my hesitation to trust quotes from USA companies.
