Would like to create a simple app that pushes news stories to me as they come in, by keyword or hashtag…

Like the title says, I want to create an app for my own personal use. Basically, something that updates me when a new story, or hashtag is posted . I would like it to be specific to keywords. Maybe search the top 5 news sites.

I’m curious as to what would I even consider coding this in? I’ve mostly learned Java, but not sure if I need to create this using something else.

Anyone have any ideas?
